We spent 5 minutes hardly inside the cubicle. No confidence on the documents submitted as IRS officer did not say all documents are perfect and good. :-(
Finally he asked any questions.. and we are done!!
1. He has done preliminary review and he is sending(he will keep all documents you given in envelop and close it in front of you) all documents to texas for secondary review.
Someone used my social security number to file a false tax return. Came to office with what I thought was appointment to provide documents. It was not. I misunderstood the person I spoke with on the phone. The gentleman at front desk was very courteous and helpful. I called the appointment hotline immediately as he advised and was able to get a same day appointment within the hour.
3. Secondary review can be completed successfully or suspended or rejected.
4. Need to respond immediately to IRS if any suspension or rejection or any docs missing/required.
2. Need to wait for 9-11 weeks for ITIN.
The only saving grace was the excellent assistance I received from the consultant.
I went(on appointment) to apply ITIN for my spouse and child and also to submit federal tax returns. We went inside the closed cubicle when we got turn and given all docs to IRS officer. IRS officer just took all documents. He said below.
I arrived at 7:30 AM to be ready for the office to open at 8:30 AM. About that time, everybody rushed through the door. As I had been the first to arrive, I went to the office person. At that time, the guard, told me "Get back into line." I said that I had been three for over an hour waiting for the door to open. He asked, my number walking through the door, which was three. Then told me, in no pleasant terms that how you walked through the door was how you get served. I said would have been nice if opening the door you would have said something. He replied, the times are posted. If this person is paid minimum wage, he is vastly over paid. Nice to go to the friendly IRS.
5. Finally he has given copy of two W7 forms on which IRS seal(IRS received W7 form) was stamped.
Have you seen "Zootopia" and there was a sloth in it. I don't know why government hire slow and useless people.... lazy...... and rude.....
Horrible customer service. Starting to think they purposely train their employees this way.
